Inter central midfielder Arturo Vidal showed regret and tried to explain himself to teammates in training yesterday following his sending off versus Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League group stage, according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Vidal was sent off in Wednesday night’s group stage encounter against Los Blancos at San Siro for complaining about not being given a penalty that he was absolutely adamant that he should have been given.

After Inter manager Antonio Conte spoke with the team, Vidal then spoke with the team and attempted to explain himself and made it clear to his teammates that he was absolutely convinced that he had been tripped by Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.

Despite him explaining himself, he will not escape a fine with the report going on to explain that Inter are waiting on finding out how many games the former Bayern Munich player will be suspended for before deciding on the amount to fine him.
