Marcelo Brozovic is now back at the disposal of Inter manager Antonio Conte ahead of tomorrow’s match away to Sassuolo but he will start on the bench according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Brozovic has missed Inter’s past two games due to having COVID-19. Although he kept as active as he could whilst sidelined by the virus, he has obviously not been on the pitch for a few weeks.

The recovery of the Croatian national team player is considered to be vital, especially for this coming Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League group stage match away to Borussia Monchengladbach.

With Arturo Vidal to be suspended, Stefano Sensi still not back at his best and both Radja Nainggolan and Christian Eriksen not popular choices for Conte at the moment, Brozovic is likely to find himself playing from the start in Germany.

Returning to tomorrow’s match with Sassuolo, the report goes on to explain that Matteo Darmian and Ivan Perisic will replace Achraf Hakimi and Ivan Perisic at right and left wing-back respectively. Danilo D’Ambrosio may also replace Milan Skriniar to allow him to rest.
