Inter striker Alexis Sanchez discussed the Nerazzurri’s vital 3-0 win over Sassuolo in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“We have always played great games, but sometimes we missed the details, the last pass, the final hit. But in general, we are doing everything Conte wants, so for me we are doing well.”

He commented on his role within the squad.

“I love football and the more I play the more I feel fit, I need this to be at my best and to show what I am on the pitch. I want to always win and fight, and I’m in a great team like Inter now.”

Finally, Sanchez discussed the Milanese club’s incredibly disappointing Champions League loss to Real Madrid earlier this week.

“Wednesday we made a mistake, we entered the pitch a bit timid. But there are great players here, I have confidence in everyone and we must always go forward with our heads held high.”

The 31-year-old Sanchez, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, has made 10 appearances across all competitions so far this season for the Nerazzurri.

In that time, he has scored two goals and provided three assists.

Inter’s win means that they are now second in the league table after nine games, sitting on 18 points, tied with the Neroverdi.

Roma and Juventus can still look to overtake Inter should they win their respective games this weekend.

The Milanese club’s next game is against German side Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League next week, although Antonio Conte’s side now look unlikely to progress to the next round.
