Italian journalist Paolo Condo discussed Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen and the few minutes he played against Sassuolo earlier today in the 3-0 win whilst speaking with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia.

“I don’t know if Conte is trying to recover him even by sending him on the pitch for a few minutes waiting for a sign from him or if he wants him to understand that the only time he can have is this one, inviting him to leave.”

The 28-year-old Eriksen, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has not adapted to coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system since joining from Premier League side Tottenham in the January transfer window.

The player has made nine appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 310 minutes. In that time, he has remained mostly invisible and has not shown the intensity required by Conte’s system.

Eriksen publicly complained to the media in the last two international breaks about his lack of playing time in Milan, infuriating the Milanese club.

Considering the statements made by CEO Beppe Marotta before the game, it seems likely that Eriksen will be leaving Inter in the upcoming January transfer window, should an adequate offer arrive.
