Former Inter winger Francesco Moriero discussed the Serie A title race, the Nerazzurri’s current position and his future coaching career in an interview with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb yesterday.

“This is a strange season, teams like Inter and Juve, who for one reason or another, are struggling and so for the moment I see a balanced season.

“A little bit due to the problems related to Covid-19 and a little bit for the matches too close together, I think that Milan, Rome, Napoli and also I’d put Sassuolo who play beautiful football, to name a few, can be up there.”

The 51-year-old Italian touched on how he is currently waiting for a new coaching opportunity. His most recent work was with Serie C side Cavese last year.

“I had contacts abroad and I’m waiting for the situation to evolve, I hope to return soon because without football I can’t live, it’s part of me, now I watch games after games, I update myself and I’m very excited, waiting for a call from those who believe in the way I see football. I wait and hope.”

Inter’s win against Sassuolo yesterday means that they are now second in the league table after nine games, sitting behind league leaders AC Milan.

Antonio Conte’s side started the season well but quickly dropped off, although now they are recovering momentum.

The Nerazzurri’s next game is a crucial Champions League clash against German side Borussia Monchengladbach next week, a must win if the Milanese club want to progress to the next round of the competition.

Inter’s next game in the league is against Bologna next weekend. The Rossoblu are in the lower half of the table after a rough start to the season.
