A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper la Repubblica has analysed Inter’s 3-0 win over Sassuolo yesterday.

The report details how coach Antonio Conte took a page out of Jose Mourinho’s book yesterday, giving the ball to the opponents and allowing them space, reducing their pressing and tiring them out.

Inter won the game with less than 35% possession, something that hasn’t happened for eight years, with their strong defense and important pressing secured the vital three points for Conte.

The win against the Neroverdi was the first game this season that Inter looked to be back in control and with their form from last season, where they showed themselves to be genuine challengers to Juventus.

Conte also relapsed into his habit of commenting on the criticisms levied towards him by the fans and press, highlighting how he was not alone at Inter and how everyone needed to stick together.

Inter’s management are not worried about his comments, hoping that the ‘Old Conte’ will be able to guide them to a win against Borussia Monchengladbach next week.
