Inter Manager Antonio Conte: “We Have To Play A Great Game Tomorrow”

Inter manager Antonio Conte has insisted that the team have to play a great game tomorrow against Borussia Monchengladbach if they wish to keep their chances of qualification to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages alive.

“We come into this match in the right way, knowing the importance of the match, but all the matches for Inter are like this,” he began an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, which was broadcast a short time ago.

“We know that certainly in terms of the standings it is a compromised situation but at the same time we know that we have to play a great game tomorrow.”

Conte then went on to reflect on his team’s performance in their Champions League group and recalled their most recent match in the Champions League, a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid.

“I have little to complain to the boys about in this Champions League group. If we consider the last game with Real Madrid and we want to make judgments after we were down to 10 men in the 30th minute and down a goal it becomes difficult. We will try to play our game and show all the desire we have to do well.”

Conte, who is in his second year in charge of Inter, was then asked whether he is expecting to see the same attitude that the team showed against Sassuolo in the match against Borussia Monchengladbach.

“We have to think about ourselves and try to demonstrate maturity and also experience because these are games that last 95 minutes and we will have to be good at using all the weapons at our disposal having different plans available.”

In conclusion the former Juventus and Italian national team boss spoke on his sides need for a win in order to stand any chance of making it through to the next round of the competition.

“We have to be good knowing that we can only have one result, the same result that Inter must have in every match which is winning. As I tell the boys, we try to give everything without having to complain to ourselves.”
