Noted Italian football journalist Luigi Garlando has shared his thoughts on what both Inter and Juventus need to do in order to recover after they have both made slower than expected starts to the 2020/21 Serie A season.

Inter are currently sitting in second place in the standings after nine games played and are trailing league leaders and city rivals AC Milan by a total of five points already.

Juventus are meanwhile sitting in fourth place with a total of 17 points to their name.

Juventus are the current reigning Italian champions and are chasing a 10th straight Serie A title whilst Inter finished last season in second place, one point off of the Bianconeri.

“If only what individuals did counted, Inter and Juve would already be on the run but Conte is still in the pipeline, on match day 9 he tried Barella centrally. Pirlo has yet to figure out what to do in midfield.

“Neither has woven Pioli’s empathy with the group,” Garlando began his latest column which appeared in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

He then went on to explain what both Conte and Pirlo must do and proceeded to sing the praises of AC Milan, whose early season form has impressed many.

“When they work out the tactics, they will be able to recover, because they have superior staff, but they have to hurry, because AC Milan are flying in the meantime.

“AC Milan have not lost in the league since March 8, they build with ease, they have 29 consecutive matches with goals, which had not happened since 1972/73.

“They are balanced and one of the three Serie A clubs who have conceded less than 10 goals and one of three who have scored more than 20.”
