After impressing in Saturday’s 3-0 Serie A win over Sassuolo, Matteo Darmian could retain his place in the Inter team for tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League group stage match away to Borussia Monchengladbach according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast a short time ago.

In the win over Sassuolo, 36-time Italian national team player Darmian performed very well with him being solid in both the attacking and defensive phases of the game.

His inclusion in the team also gave Inter a real balance to their play, something that they have severely lacked on a number of occasions this term.

Darmian could therefore be handed another start at right wing-back which would again mean that the currently out of form Achraf Hakimi would be forced to start from the bench.

Since joining Inter from Parma during the most recent Summer transfer window, Darmian has made six appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has tallied one assist.
