Inter being able to play for qualification on the final match day of the UEFA Champions League depends on Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
A year ago the duo were decisive against Slavia Prague which gave Inter the chance of playing for qualification to the knockout stages in the final group match versus Barcelona and it now remains to be seen if they can be equally as decisive against Borussia Monchengladbach later on today.
This time round six points could prove to be enough for Inter to make it into the next round but they must beat Borussia Monchengladbach tonight and then beat Shakhtar Donetsk next week in the final group stage game.
The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that there is a difference of €10 million between what Inter would get for making it to the next round of the Champions League and what they would get if they dropped down to the Europa League.
Gazzetta dello Sport also state that Inter can start from where they left off at the weekend when they beat high flying Sassuolo 3-0 away from home.
Inter boss Antonio Conte will continue to deploy Matteo Darmian at right wing-back instead of Achraf Hakimi. Milan Skriniar, Stefan De Vrj and Alessandro Bastoni will form the back three.
