Italian Media Highlight Two Reasons Why Inter Shouldn’t Feel Resigned To Champions League Elimination

There are two reasons why Inter should not feel that they are resigned to elimination from the UEFA Champions League ahead of tonight’s crucial penultimate group stage encounter away to Borussia Monchengladbach according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Inter head into this match knowing that they must win in order to stand any chance of progression to the next round of the competition.

Inter have just two points to their name after four games played and although the odds are very much stacked against them progressing, the first reason is that it would be wrong of them to not even give themselves a chance at qualification given how football can be.

The second reason is because a win would at least give Inter some nobility in what has been a Champions League campaign to forget and tournament organisers UEFA reward winners of matches.

Inter have had many things that they can complain about from this campaign in the Champions League from the refereeing in the reverse fixture with tonight’s opponents, the officials’ failure to award them a penalty against Shakhtar Donetsk and the officials’ failure to give them a penalty versus Real Madrid.
