Inter have not won any of their last five UEFA Champions League games a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport highlights ahead of tonight’s penultimate group stage match away to Borussia Monchengladbach.

Inter have to win tonight in order to stand any chance of progression to the next round of the competition but come into the match having failed to win any of their last five games in the competition (two draws, three defeats).

The Nerazzurri’s last win in the competition came on match day five of last season’s group stage as they ran out 3-1 winners away to Slavia Prague, a result which enabled them to play for qualification on the final match day of the group stage.

In that match, Romelu Lukaku was absolutely decisive as he provided two assists and also scored once. Unfortunately for Inter they lost to Barcelona on match day six and dropped down to the Europa League.

The report goes on to add that a year on from that game, Inter manager Antonio Conte is still as reliant on Lukaku, who remained on the bench for a large part of Saturday’s league win over Sassuolo in order for him to be in the best condition for tonight.
