Inter are among the clubs to have been most affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic in terms of having had players test positive a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport highlights.

Since the 2020/21 Serie A season began, no less than 109 players have tested positive for COVID-19. Genoa have had no less than 18 players test positive and have been the worst affected. Inter have meanwhile had nine players test positive for COVID-19 including the false positive that Achraf Hakimi returned.

The other Inter players to have tested positive are Alessandro Bastoni, Milan Skriniar, Radja Nainggolan, Roberto Gagliardini, Ionut Andrei Radu, Ashley Young, Daniele Padelli, Marcelo Brozovic and Aleksandar Kolarov

Bologna are the only team in Serie A to have not had any players test positive for COVID-19 but they have not entirely avoided COVID-19 at the club as manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has had it.

AC Milan have had positive COVID-19 tests with manager Stefano Pioli being one of them. Whilst some teams have struggled without some players, AC Milan still managed to perform, even without talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Rossoneri won both of the games he missed due to COVID-19 and they are sitting at the top of the table despite the COVID-19 disturbances.

Juventus on the other hand struggled with the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo when he had COVID-19 as they recorded draws against Hellas Verona and Crotone.
