Italian Journalist Mario Sconcerti: “Inter Were Beautiful Against Gladbach, Romelu Lukaku Had A Perfect Match”

Noted Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has expressed his thoughts on Inter’s performance in their UEFA Champions League group stage win away to Borussia Monchengladbach last night his latest column which appeared in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Inter ran out 3-2 winners thanks to a goal from Matteo Darmian and a brace from Romelu Lukaku and the result means that Inter head into the final group stage match next week at home to Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk with a chance of securing qualification for the knockout stages.

“Inter were beautiful, agile and foiled, always disposed to score and to take one, pushed by the best Lukaku ever seen in Italy in one of those games that sometimes overturn a season and in any case put everyone back on track,” he began his column.

Sconcerti then went on to sing the praises of Inter manager Antonio Conte who led the Nerazzurri to an absolutely crucial victory at Borussia Park.

“He was good at first understanding a game that was not very legible. He chose a balanced team because against the somewhat boring but insistent quality of the Germans he needed a strong midfield that would cut across the entire pitch.”

In conclusion Sconcerti then went on to praise Lukaku after his performance in the match with him being absolutely pivotal in Inter achieving the result that they did.

“Today he is dynamic perfection. He is a centre forward who plays for himself and for everyone, far beyond the goals he scores. It was a perfect match from him.”
