Inter will seriously evaluate bringing in a more experienced striker in the January transfer window if they are to make it through to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

To make it through to the next round, Inter must beat Shakhtar Donetsk and hope that that other group stage match between Real Madrid and Borussia Monchengladbach does not finish as a draw.

Going through could determine the strategy that Inter use in the January transfer window. Inter have Andrea Pinamonti in their ranks and wanted to count on him but progression in the Champions League could lead to Inter looking to acquire a more experienced head.

Inter will not spend big money on an experienced striker and the report goes on to add that a potential option could be Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud who wants more playing time than he is currently receiving at the Premier League club.

If Inter do not make it through to the next round, they would consider just sticking with the attacking options that they already have.
