Ajax full back Nicolas Tagliafico’s agent Ricardo Schlieper has revealed that his client could potentially leave the Eredivisie side in the upcoming January transfer window.

“Many teams have been after the player, but the virus has altered the normal functioning of the transfer market. The same has happened to several players,” he began an interview with Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Asked about Inter’s alleged interest in his client he responded: “We are following the main European leagues with interest and the Italian one is clearly part of them.”

He was then asked about the chances of the Argentine national team player signing a contract extension with his current employers: “We will update his salary and extend the contract for a further season.”

Next Schlieper was asked if he has had any contact with Inter and whether he can reveal anything about the interest of Italian clubs: “Look, as I have already said many times, these issues in Italy are dealt with by Giovanni Branchini. It has been like this for more than 25 years.”

Schlieper was then asked whether Tagliafico could leave in January and about Ajax’s reported demands of €20-25 million for his client.

“Yes, sure. I will not go into the merits of the figures, but this would not be the demands.”

In conclusion he spoke a bit further on Inter and whether the Nerazzurri club would be a welcome next destination for his client: “Yes, absolutely. They are a great club where Argentine players have played and still play with excellent results.”

This season 28-year-old Tagliafico has made 12 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, he has contributed a single assist.
