Inter In Contact With Chelsea Striker Olivier Giroud’s Agent Italian Media Reports

Contact has been made between Inter and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The report does not explain which of the parties have initiated the contact but does make it clear that Giroud’s agent Michel Manuello has set a deadline for Chelsea manager Frank Lampard with regard to making his intentions for Giroud known.

With the European Championship’s around the corner, Giroud knows that he must play more consistently than he has been so far this season.

If Giroud’s situation does not improve Manuello is prepared to ask Chelsea to sell his client and both Inter and Juventus have an interest in signing him.

Giroud currently earns €3.5 million a year and could join a new club on an 18 month deal. Chelsea previously demanded €4 million plus €1 million in add-ons but should lower their demands.

The report goes on to conclude that Inter are prepared to do what they did with Ashley Young last January by offering Giroud a six month deal with an option for a further year.
