Inter have agreed a new contract with long-serving defender Danilo D’Ambrosio according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

D’Ambrosio’s contract with Inter was due to expire at the end of this season but he has been rewarded with a new deal by the Nerazzurri club, the details of which have not been disclosed in this report. The report does however state that all that is missing is the official announcement.

The 32-year-old joined Inter in the January transfer window of the 2013/14 season from fellow Serie A club Torino and he has since went on to represent the club on no less than 219 times across all competitions to date, during which he has scored 19 goals and tallied 17 assists.

This season D’Ambrosio, who is naturally a right back or right wing-back, has found himself regularly deployed as a centre back. In 10 appearances this term, the six time Italian national team representative has scored two goals.
