Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has revealed that he is prepared to fight to increase his minutes at the Premier League club.

“I am ready to fight until the end but obviously to be happy I need to be on the pitch a little more,” he explained in a recent interview as quoted by British tabloid The Sun.

He then went on to reveal what France manager Didier Deschamps told him in a recent conversation ahead of next Summer’s European Championship’s.

“I have a good chance to be ready for the Euros if I play more than in the beginning of the season. I had a conversation with France manager Didier Deschamps and he said if the situation stayed like that, you will have to make a decision in January.”

Giroud then went on to admit that he thinks his playing time at the club can increase: “I’m pretty sure I can grab more game time and stay at Chelsea because that’s what I want but you never know in football, everything is going very fast.”

In conclusion the veteran forward insisted that you have to remain positive when you are not playing and shared his belief in himself as a player.

“The best answer when you are not playing much is not being sad, it’s about being positive. I try to do that every single day. I believe in my qualities and keep calm and confident. I know what I am capable of.”

The former Arsenal player has been strongly linked with several clubs ahead of the upcoming January transfer window including Inter, Juventus and MLS franchise Inter Miami, who are owned by David Beckham.

This season Giroud, who is out of contract with Chelsea at the end of this season, has scored six goals in 10 appearances to date.
