Inter will sign a new midfielder in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter have returned to the 3-5-2 system that served them so well last season but the Inter midfield, which includes some great players, is still in need of a hand.

The Nerazzurri club could bring in a new midfielder via a swap deal that would involve Christian Eriksen, who has far from lived up to expectations during his time with Inter and looks almost certain to depart next month.

Eriksen could possibly be exchanged for one of Paris Saint-Germain duo Leandro Paredes or Ander Herrera whilst Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka is another possibility.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that Inter very much love Udinese and Argentina midfielder Rodrigo de Paul but it will be difficult for Inter to convince Udinese to part ways with him.
