Inter and Atalanta are the only two teams in Serie A this season to retain possession in their opponents half more than in their own, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri control the ball in their opponents half on average around 15 minutes and 35 seconds per game this season, compared to 15 minutes and one second in their own half.

Last season the numbers were reversed, with Inter controlling possession for 15 minutes and 18 seconds in their own half and 13 minutes and 10 seconds in the opponent’s, showing a more aggressive side under Conte this campaign.

Inter are currently second overall for ball possession this season, controlling it for around 30 minutes and 36 seconds on average per game. They are behind Juventus, who sit on 32 minutes and 10 seconds.

The Nerazzurri are currently second in the league table after nine games, five points behind leaders AC Milan.
