Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan is likely to return to Cagliari in the upcoming January transfer window, according to a report from Belgian media outlet Le Soir earlier today.

The report details how the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, has hardly featured under coach Antonio Conte this campaign, despite coming off a strong season with the Rossoblu whilst on loan last campaign.

This season, Nainggolan has made five appearances across all competitions, for a total of 45 minutes. The most he has played this season in a single game was 16 minutes, against Fiorentina on opening day.

With the former Roma man clearly not in Conte’s project at the club, it seems likely that Nainggolan will return to Cagliari in the upcoming January transfer window.

The 32-year-old was close to a move to the Rossoblu at the end of the summer transfer window, but the deal fell through on transfer deadline day.
