Inter manager Antonio Conte is not only just remaining at Inter due to his current contract with the club according to what Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni wrote in his latest column for Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The former Juventus and Italian national team boss is into the second year or a three year contract with Inter which he earns around €12 million a year for, a salary that makes him the highest paid coach in the history of Serie A.

“Conte is at Inter and remains there for the reasons we have already said (contract), but also because Zhang has decided to trust him,” Bucchioni explained.

Bucchioni then spoke on what this year must be and cannot afford to be for Inter: “The problem is that this year Inter must win, it cannot be another year of growth and that’s it. Conte must be supported, the squad must be completed.”

Since succeeding Luciano Spalletti in the Summer of 2019, former Chelsea manager Conte has managed Inter in 67 matches across all competitions to date. Inter have won 38 of these games, drawn 17 and lost 12.

Last season Conte led Inter to a second place finish in Serie A, the semi final stage of the Coppa Italia and the final of the Europa League, which Inter lost to Sevilla.
