A report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport has highlighted five factors that can help Inter return to the top of the league table in the coming weeks.

The report begins by highlighting how the Milanese club will be stronger at home in the San Siro. Out of the big three matches so far this season, one was a loss to AC Milan in the derby and the draws against Atalanta and Lazio were both away.

In the three times out of four that Inter earnt points at San Siro, against Fiorentina, Parma and Torino, they needed strong comebacks.

The second factor is Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal, the report continues. Coach Antonio Conte expects him to perform better in the 3-5-2 formation. The player has settled more now since arriving from Barcelona in the recent transfer window.

The third point is the Milanese club’s ability to rotate the squad. Conte has found important options like Matteo Darmian, Roberto Gagliardini and Danilo D’Ambrosio who can slot into the squad when needed, giving the 51-year-old Italian significantly more rotational options.

The Nerazzurri’s system has returned to being more defensive, with the removal of a trequartista and a lower line overall. This system is the fourth factor as Inter have previously struggled to keep clean sheets this season.

The final factor is the wing back role. Conte has four different players at his disposal for the two spots. Ivan Perisic is an experienced player who recently won the Champions League, Ashley Young is a veteran who is perfectly comfortable both attacking and defending, Matteo Darmian is the most defensive and Achraf Hakimi is the most offensive.
