Inter linked Olivier Giroud is waiting to see if he will feature more for Chelsea in the run up to Christmas, before making a decision about his future, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the 34-year-old Frenchman and his agent Michel Manuello want to see if coach Frank Lampard will deploy the veteran forward more over the coming weeks, before deciding whether to push for a move in January or not.
Giroud would like to stay with Chelsea, but next summer’s European Championships are equally important for the player and he wants regular first team football to ensure a spot in the France squad.
In September, Chelsea wanted €5 million for the former Arsenal forward, but the price is now set to fall in January even further, considering that Giroud’s contract expires at the end of the season.
Inter are closely observing the situation and do not want to spend much at all for the Frenchman.
