Inter coach Antonio Conte is hoping to sign Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante and Olivier Giroud in January, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are prepared to sell Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and Belgian Radja Nainggolan in the upcoming winter transfer window, and are looking for a new defensive midfielder and backup forward to strengthen the squad.

The 51-year-old Italian coach dreams of signing 29-year-old French midfielder Kante, but his high price makes a deal incredibly unlikely.

Giroud is also wanted as a backup to Romelu Lukaku, but the 34-year-old Frenchman has recently experienced a strong run of form, scoring five goals in the last two games across the league and Champions League.

The former Arsenal forward’s contract expires with the Blues at the end of the season.

The alternative to Giroud is Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik, although he would be a more expensive option, closer to around €20 million.
