Inter coach Antonio Conte sees Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen under the same light that he sees Radja Nainggolan, according to a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today.
The report details how the 51-year-old Italian coach deployed the 28-year-old Dane in the dying minutes of the 3-1 win over Bologna yesterday. After the final whistle, he quickly disappeared down the tunnel without joining the squad’s celebrations, showing how on the fringes of the project he currently is.
Conte thinks of Eriksen in the same way that he thinks of Nainggolan, the report continues, that being a player who can only feature in the dying minutes of the game, and a player who will be leaving in January.
Inter are currently looking for a new home for Eriksen, with a possible exchange on the cards with Paris Saint-Germain’s Leandro Paredes.
The Nerazzurri spent €20 million on the 28-year-old Dane in January and he earns €7 million per season, so the club don’t want to lose too heavily in the winter window.
