Inter defender Aleksandar Kolarov will return to the squad for next week’s Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 35-year-old Serbian full back, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until the end of the season, will almost certainly sit on the bench and not start against the Ukrainian champions.

The former Roma and Lazio player has recently recovered from a battle with Covid-19, that forced him to miss five games across all competitions.

Kolarov has made six appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 460 minutes. In that time, he has provided one assist.

The condition of backup goalkeeper Ionut Radu must also be verified, after the 23-year-old Romanian was absent from yesterday’s squad due to a slight muscle problem.

The Nerazzurri must win against Shakhtar next week if they want to progress to the next round of the Champions League, as they currently sit bottom of their group after five games.
