Inter wing back Ivan Perisic silenced doubters yesterday with his strong performance against Bologna, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 31-year-old Croatian, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2022, has often been considered unable to properly match coach Antonio Conte’s requirements as a wing back by fans and pundits, but his performance yesterday seemed to quell those doubts.

Perisic ran up and down the left side of the pitch yesterday, providing the cross for the opening goal and lining up with the defense when out of possession, showing his adaption to Conte’s system and mechanisms.

The 31-year-old Croatian, who spent last season on loan with Bayern Munich, proved that he can play as a left wing back under the 51-year-old Italian coach, giving Conte even more rotational options now.

Perisic has scored two goals and provided three assists in 15 appearances this campaign.
