Inter coach Antonio Conte decided to send on Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen in the 91st minute against Bologna yesterday, a move considered humiliating by Sportitalia CEO Michele Criscitiello, as noted on his Twitter page earlier today.

The report details how the 28-year-old Dane, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has failed to adapt to Conte’s tactical system since arriving from Premier League side Tottenham in the January transfer window, in a deal worth around €20 million.

The former Spurs man has hardly featured this season, making 10 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 310 minutes.

He seems destined to leave Inter in the upcoming January transfer window, as the Nerazzurri look to replace him with a defensive midfielder instead.

The 28-year-old Dane publicly complained about his lack of playing time to the media twice already this season, frustrating the Nerazzurri.

Criscitiello commented on Conte’s decision to bring on Eriksen in the dying minutes of the game, saying:

“You may not want a footballer because tactically he does not fit into your plans but humiliating a professional and a man like that does not have a shred of logic. Yet he’s not a kid or one who breaks the locker room.”
