Arturo Vidal is at great risk of missing out on Inter’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday according to a report from the online edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Chilean was forced off the field of play in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Bologna due to feeling a slight discomfort in his left thigh and today he did not train with the rest of the group.

He will be re-evaluated tomorrow by Inter’s medical staff but as the hours pass and the game gets closer, Vidal’s chances of playing diminish.

If Vidal is confirmed as out for the match, which appears increasingly likely, the report goes on to add that Roberto Gagliardini, who has proved to be reliable in recent matches, will start alongside Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic in midfield.

Inter versus Shakhtar Donetsk is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 local time on Wednesday.
