Arturo Vidal is unlikely to be able to recover for Inter’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast a short time ago.

The Chilean national team player suffered a thigh injury in Saturday’s 3-1 Serie A win over Bologna and as a result he did not train with the rest of his Nerazzurri teammates today ahead of the clash with the Ukrainian powerhouses at San Siro.

As per the report, he will be evaluated by Inter’s medical staff tomorrow but the chances of him being on the pitch on Wednesday are slim with it difficult for him to make a last minute recovery.

The former Barcelona player has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date this term. In 945 minutes on the park, he has provided a pair of assists for his teammates.
