In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera have pointed out how things differed for Achraf Hakimi and Christian Eriksen in this past weekend’s Serie A win versus Bologna.

Moroccan national team wing-back Hakimi scored twice in the match at San Siro and he was the perfect photograph of the environment at Inter in that he was hysterical in despair but pompous in celebration.

As for Eriksen, who has been on the sidelines of the Inter project ever since his arrival in January, it is perhaps the case that he is unsuitable for Italian football.

He made a four minute cameo versus Real Madrid, five minute cameo versus Sassuolo and came on for just one minute versus Bologna.

Eriksen arrived and was presented as a top player and there were high expectations for him but he has not lived up to them. Inter manager Antonio Conte changed system to try to accommodate Eriksen but the Dane failed to take his chances.

In January everything will be done to find him a new club, whether it be a sale or loan move.
