Italian journalist Franco Vanni discussed a rumor surrounding Inter coach Antonio Conte’s decision to bring on Christian Eriksen for only a few minutes against Bologna on Saturday in a post on his Twitter yesterday.

The 28-year-old Danish midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, has not adapted to the 51-year-old Italian’s tactical system since signing from Premier League side Tottenham in the January transfer window, in a deal worth €20 million.

He has hardly featured under Conte this campaign, only making 10 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 310 minutes.

Since the last international break, Eriksen has only played 10 minutes across three games, showing on how the fringes he is.

The Dane seems destined to leave the club in January, with French giants Paris Saint-Germain previously linked and a potential return to the Premier League always on the cards.

Vanni discussed a rumor surrounding Eriksen’s appearance against Bologna, saying:

“The rumor that Conte would play Eriksen for a few minutes to help him reach a phantom attendance bonus is obviously a lie.”
