Inter centre back Stefan de Vrij’s agent Mino Raiola has confirmed that there is a verbal agreement in place with the club over a new contract.

The Dutch national team player, who joined Inter in 2018, is currently under contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season but his deal appears set to be extended.

“We have a verbal agreement, on everything. Now they are writing it up,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport, which appeared in today’s print edition of the Turin based news outlet.

Raiola then went on to share his thoughts on Inter as a club and expressed his thoughts with regard to something that he feels Inter are missing.

“Inter are strong and have a great coach, maybe a top striker is missing.”

Raiola, who is one of the most well known agent’s in football, then went on to share his views on Inter manager Antonio Conte.

“I really appreciate Conte as a coach. He is certainly one of the best around and not only due to the salary he receives. He is a particular coach, one who transmits a lot of positive energy to the team like Mourinho.

As part of the interview Raiola also dismissed comparisons that have been made between Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland and Inter’s Romelu Lukaku.

“Solskjær is a good guy, but Haaland is nothing like Lukaku. The only thing they have in common is the jersey number, nine.

“I’ve never seen a mature center forward like Erling at his age, maybe only Il Fenomeno Ronaldo and Zlatan. Erling is like Ibra at twenty.

“He has the same desire to work and become the strongest. Solskjær, instead of comparing Haaland to Lukaku, should think about finding a way to make Pogba play as a champion.”
