Rennes could send loanee Dalbert back to Inter in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from the online edition of French daily newspaper Ouest-France.

The Ligue 1 club had a November to forget as they failed to win any games, they dropped from third to ninth in the league and were also eliminated from the UEFA Champions League group stage.

As a result, the report explains that Rennes are now beginning to question the quality of the players they brought in in the Summer transfer window which cost them a combined €71 million.

Jeremy Doku, who was signed for €26 million from Anderlecht, has been good but much more was expected from Dalbert and Daniele Rugani, who, like Dalbert, joined them on a season long loan.

The players have struggled for different reasons. Rugani has struggled to perform to expectations due to injury whilst Dalbert has found himself slide down the pecking order due to his poor performances and as a result Rennes could cut his loan short and send him back to Inter next month.
