Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Taison has insisted that he and his teammates will not be defensive in tomorrow’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match away to Inter.

“We are not a defensive team, it will be a difficult match, made up of little details and everyone will be important,” he explained in his pre-match press conference which took place earlier on today.

“Inter will have moments in which they will defend and for us it will be the same. We will play like we did against Real Madrid, at home and at Valdebebas. We will try to make as little mistakes as possible.

He was then asked if he ever thought that on the final day of the group stage he and his teammates would be in with a chance of finishing top of it.

“We play every match to win, there is no alternative. We have respect for our opponent, for their budget, but there is not only that.”

He then went on to sing the praises of Inter and shared his trust in his teammates ahead of the big match at San Siro which is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 local time tomorrow.

“Inter are a great club, with great players and an excellent coach. Their story is known all over the world, but we too are not far behind.

“I trust my teammates and my coach, you can make mistakes sometimes, but the most important thing is to concentrate on the match.”

This season the 32-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of this season, has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has managed to score two goals and provide his teammates with a single assist.
