Legendary Italian football manager Arrigo Sacchi has sang the praises of Inter manager Antonio Conte and shared his belief that the Nerazzurri club still have more than enough room for improvement.

“Conte is doing an extraordinary job and this must be acknowledged,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition of the Milan based news outlet.

“The problem is that not all players are functional to the project and this is clearly a problem. I believe that Inter still have ample room for improvement.”

Sacchi then went on to admit that what the players want to do will determine how far this group of players can go.

“Where can this group go? It depends on their will. If they really want to improve, they have a great professor like Conte and a club that supports them. You have to see what the players want, because not everyone is the same.

In conclusion Sacchi added: “If Conte’s players have his character, then I can say that Inter will improve significantly.”

Former Juventus and Italian national team manager Conte is roughly 18 months into his spell as Inter manager which began back in the Summer of 2019.

Conte has managed Inter in 68 matches across all competitions to date and has led Inter to 39 wins, 17 draws and 12 defeats.

Last season Conte led Inter to a second placed finish in Serie A, the semi finals of the Coppa Italia and the final of the Europa League, which they lost to Sevilla.
