Arturo Vidal will likely miss more than just tonight’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match versus Shakhtar Donetsk due to injury according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Chilean national team central midfielder sustained a right thigh strain in Saturday’s 3-1 league win at home to Bologna and in addition to missing out tonight at San Siro, the former Barcelona player will in all likelihood also miss Inter’s Serie A match away to Cagliari this coming weekend.

Vidal’s goal is to make a return to action in Inter’s Serie A match versus Napoli which comes on Wednesday 16 December.

This season Vidal, who joined Inter in the Summer transfer window, has made 14 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just over 900 minutes, Vidal has managed to provide a total of two assists for his Nerazzurri teammates.
