The favourite player to complete the Inter midfield in tonight’s final UEFA Champions League match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk appears to be Christian Eriksen according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Going off what happened in training yesterday, the Danish national team attacking midfielder appears set to be handed a first start in 40 days since Inter’s match versus Parma.

Stefano Sensi is seen as the alternative to Eriksen but Inter manager Antonio Conte is not yet ready to play Sensi from the start just yet.

The report goes on to add that Conte could possibly spring a surprise by deploying Alexis Sanchez in behind strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

Should Conte go ahead and start Sanchez, Conte could then deploy Matteo Darmian at right wing-back rather than Achraf Hakimi in order to have more balance.

Probable Inter starting line-up (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrij, Alessandro Bastoni; Achraf Hakimi, Roberto Gagliardini, Marcelo Brozovic, Christian Eriksen, Ashley Young; Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez.
