Christian Eriksen’s UEFA Champions League experience could be fundamental for Inter in tonight’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk according to a report from the online edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Due to injuries to Arturo Vidal and Nicolo Barella, Eriksen appears set to be handed a rare opportunity to start when Inter play host to the Ukrainian powerhouses at San Siro in a few hours time.

Eriksen’s time with Inter has went far from well and many reports have stated that it is pretty much inevitable that he will leave the club next month.

Despite things not going well for him at Inter, the UEFA Champions League is a competition which he has fared well in during his career.

He has made 48 appearances in the UEFA Champions League, in which he has scored seven goals and provided 13 assists.

It is also worth noting that he was absolutely fundamental in helping Tottenham Hotspur to the final of the competition a few seasons ago.
