Inter manager Antonio Conte has admitted that his team have both the right morale and self-esteem heading into tonight’s final UEFA Champions League group stage match at home to Shakhtar Donetsk.

Inter know that they must win tonight in order to stand any chance at progression in the competition but know that them winning will not be enough in itself to secure passage to the next round.

In order to go through, Inter must win and the other group stage game between Real Madrid and Borussia Monchengladbach cannot end as a draw.

“We arrive at this match with the right morale and the right self-esteem, aside from the defects that are there” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, which was broadcast late last night.

Next Conte was asked about what he makes of Shakhtar Donetsk as a team and what he thinks they will do in the match.

“They will try to exploit their characteristics, they can do both phases well but they also have the quality to impose their game.”

Asked about the game itself and what his team need to do, the former Juventus and Italian national team manager responded: “We have to make the difference on the pitch, we have to be better than them.”
