Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Manor Solomon has shared his belief that this year’s UEFA Champions League has proven that nothing is impossible ahead of tonight’s UEFA Champions League group stage match away to Inter.

All four teams in group B are in with a chance of qualification to the next round. Shakhtar Donetsk know that they will definitely go through with a win but a draw could also see them progress. Inter meanwhile have to win and hope that Real Madrid versus Borussia Monchengladbach does not end as a draw.

“This Champions League has taught us that nothing, absolutely nothing, is impossible. It is useless to seek rationality. Now we want at least a draw,” he began an interview with Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

He then went on to reflect on the reverse fixture with Inter earlier on in the group stage, which ended 0-0 in Kyiv.

“It was less difficult than the Europa League semi final against them but it was still tiring. We are usually good at carrying the ball, but they press and they have a great defensive system.”

He then went on to insist that he and his teammates will try and do everything to nullify Inter striker Romelu Lukaku, who he was full of praise for.

“We will do everything to stop Lukaku. He is a beast, a monster. If he is in the mood, he is unstoppable and he is also underestimated.

“He should be considered among the greatest in his role. Inter signed him and I wondered why are Manchester getting rid of someone like this?”

In conclusion he was asked about Inter right wing-back Achraf Hakimi, who, like him, is Muslim: “The last thing that interests me is his religion, I only care about how much he runs.”
