Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has revealed that he has previously knocked back approaches made by both Juventus and Inter and the reason why he decided to reject both the Bianconeri and Nerazzurri clubs.

“To the Napoli fans I only say thank you. I will always be grateful to them. It is for this reason that I said no to many Italian clubs including Juventus, who called me often, and also Inter. I couldn’t do such a thing to the Neapolitans,” the 33-year-old explained in an interview with Italian news outlet MondoNapoli.it.

Cavani spent three years with Napoli between 2010 and 2013 during which time he managed to score a sensational 104 goals in 138 appearances across all competitions.

He then moved on to Paris Saint-Germain where he would score 200 goals in 301 outings for them. He left them this Summer when his contract expired and he moved on to Manchester United, who he has three goals for in 10 appearances thus far.

Prior to joining Manchester United, Cavani was heavily linked with a potential move to Inter and this was not the first time that the Uruguayan national team player was linked with a potential switch to the San Siro club in his career either.
