Inter have come to an agreement over a new five year contract with star central defender Stefan de Vrij according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

de Vrij joined Inter on a free transfer in the Summer of 2018 following the expiry of his contract with Lazio at the end of the previous season and as part of this new deal his salary will rise up to €5.2 million and there will also be various bonuses available to him.

Such a salary will bring his salary in line with Achraf Hakimi and only both Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku will earn more than he does.

The report adds that there was a meeting a few weeks ago and this meeting was in fact decisive in an agreement being found over a new deal.

Moreover, the report states that de Vrij is happy playing for Inter and did not take moves to either Liverpool or Manchester United into consideration, both of whom have made enquiries to his agent Mino Raiola in recent months.
