Italian Media Highlight Antonio Conte’s Poor Record In Champions League After Inter’s Elimination

Following Inter’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League last night, Tuttosport have examined Inter manager Antonio Conte’s record in the competition in today’s print edition.

Inter crashed out of the competition at the group stage for the third consecutive season with two of these eliminations having come under Conte’s management.

The UEFA Champions League is a competition that Conte has not fared well in, especially in comparison to the success he has enjoyed domestically speaking when in charge of clubs, namely Juventus and Chelsea.

Conte has managed a team in the UEFA Champions League on five occasion in his managerial career and has only made it past the group stage on two occasions when he has managed to record one last 16 and one quarter final finish.

The report from the Turin based news outlet goes on to insist that Conte cannot afford to fail in Serie A this season.

Whilst he and club management may insist that the Scudetto is not a declared goal, Tuttosport add that Conte and management cannot keep up this white lie cannot last for too long.
