Inter Lautaro Martinez was very much disappointed by Inter manager Antonio Conte’s decision to substitute him near the end of Inter’s UEFA Champions League group stage match with Shakhtar Donetsk earlier on this week according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Argentine national team striker was taken off with a few minutes to spare in the match despite the fact it was goalless at the time and Inter had to win to stand any chance of progression.

Lautaro was both angry and frustrated for not having taken advantage of the four chances he had in the match, one of which he rattled the crossbar with.

There is once again bitterness for having gotten so close to achieving a goal in progression that would have in all probability changed the fate of Inter’s season.

The report goes on to add that Lautaro gave more than just a thought to a potential thought to a move to Barcelona where he could link up with his compatriot Lionel Messi and experience European football in a different manner than he has thus far at Inter with Inter having went out in the group stage every season he has been with the club.
