Inter attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen will be unable to benefit from the tax breaks for foreign players in Italy if he leaves Inter in the upcoming January transfer window a report from the online edition of British newspaper The Telegraph has highlighted.
Eriksen joined Inter in a deal worth £17 million (approximately €18.4 million) last January but having failed to perform to expectations it is widely expected that he will be moved on in January and he will be hit financially as a result of this.
The tax breaks afforded to foreign players in Italy will likely price him out of a return to the Premier League as the tax breaks in Italy will make it virtually impossible for his salary at Inter to be matched.
To benefit from the tax break, players have to be in Italy for two years meaning that the Danish national team player would miss out on a huge chunk of his salary if he leaves Italy in January whether that be on a permanent or loan basis.
