Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will not be starting against Cagliari tomorrow, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.
The report details how the 23-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, may not being simply only rested, but also be receiving a slight punishment for his reaction after being substituted off against Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this week.
Lautaro was incredibly unhappy to be brought off against the Ukrainian champions after a lackluster game and so may be remaining on the bench as a result.
The 23-year-old former Racing forward has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1050 minutes.
In that time, he has scored six goals and provided three assists.
He was disappointing in Europe for Antonio Conte’s side, only scoring one goal and providing one assist in his six appearances in the competition. He has not scored since the 4-2 win over Torino last month.
