Italian journalist Niccolò Ceccarini highlighted how Inter are working on renewing the contracts of defenders Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni in an editorial for Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today.

“Marotta and Ausilio are also working on contract renewals. After the agreement reached with De Vrji, the agreement with Bastoni is also on the way. Last details for a new contract until 2025.”

The 21-year-old Alessandro Bastoni, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023 currently, has made 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1034 minutes.

In that time, he has provided one assist and helped the side keep four clean sheets, being an impressive and strong defender despite his young age.

Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij is also a core part of coach Antonio Conte’s tactical system, having made 14 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League so far this campaign, playing 1186 minutes in total.

During that time, he helped the team keep three clean sheets, although he has been less creative in an attacking sense this campaign. His current contract also expires in 2023.
